Summary:
In 1989, a year breakthrough in the field of parasitology of the island gives Katihank
Researchers leap in human evolution. Initial tests are promising, as experimental
individuals have greater physical and mental strength. But something goes wrong in the experiment
and fully three quarters of the island's population dies mysteriously. Jamie Ackerman avoids that
cost the lives of her mother 20 years ago. Now she returns with her boyfriend and his stepbrother,
to save the family property. There they found the key to the disturbing past of
Jamie, and deeply guarded secrets of the city leader - Larkin. At that time comes
freedom of a new kind of parasite which again threatens the inhabitants of the island. Jamie tries
to survive and to escape persecution in January islanders, who know that she has inherited
more than you ever imagined.
